Before you book

All passengers must come to the agency the day before the tour for the equipment fitting, between 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm.

Overview

A 45-minute snorkel session in Darwin Bay, then two panga rides: along the Pared de Tijeretas wall for seabirds, and out to the Carawa, a cargo ship wrecked roughly a century ago.

Agency check-in at 8:00 am. At 8:15 am the group heads to Muelle Acuario I and meets the guide.

The first site is Darwin Bay, where the snorkel session runs about 45 minutes. You may see sea lions, reef sharks, rays, turtles, moray eels, lobsters and octopus.

Then a panga ride along the wall at Darwin Bay, with boobies, frigatebirds, swallow-tailed gulls, dolphins and sea lions possible. Fifteen more minutes of sailing reaches the second panga site, the Carawa, a ship that ran aground roughly 100 years ago carrying exports to mainland Ecuador. Return to port around 1:00 pm, depending on ocean conditions.
