Before you book

Open Water certification required, minimum 8 logged dives. All passengers must come to the agency the day before the tour for equipment fitting, between 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm.

Overview

Two 45-minute dives at Kicker Rock, the volcanic tower standing off San Cristobal. The first descent runs through the channel between the two walls, where Galapagos sharks, hammerheads and rays pass.

Check-in at the agency at 7:45 a.m., Muelle Acuario I at 8:00 a.m. to meet the naturalist guide and cross to Kicker Rock, a volcanic tower rising sheer from the sea.

Two dives: the channel between the two rocks, then the west corner, though the guide may choose another part of the rock depending on ocean conditions. Each runs about 45 minutes at 18 to 22 meters, visibility 10 to 30 meters, with about an hour of surface interval between.

You may see Galapagos, whitetip, blacktip and hammerhead sharks, turtles, manta rays, sunfish, dolphins, sea lions, starfish, sea urchins and many fish. Around the rock, blue-footed and Nazca boobies, pelicans and frigatebirds.

Then a beach, Manglesito, Puerto Grande or Cerro Brujo depending on the vessel itinerary, with lunch on board, a walk and a snorkel. Port around 3:00 p.m., depending on ocean conditions.
