A program built for people who have never dived. No Open Water certification needed. Surface practice, a guided descent on a line, then two 45-minute dives with a maximum depth of 12 meters.

Check-in at the agency at 8:00 a.m., Muelle Acuario I at 8:15 a.m. to meet the dive instructor, then out to Darwin Bay. After the briefing everyone practices at the surface, then descends slowly on a line, equalizing along the way to avoid ear discomfort, to about 8 meters. The dive runs about 45 minutes depending on each diver's air supply, maximum depth 12 meters, visibility 8 to 25 meters. Reef sharks, rays, turtles, barracuda, batfish, sea urchins, starfish, octopus and moray eels are possible.
Snacks, drinks and about an hour of rest follow. Fifteen minutes away is Carawa, a ship that sank roughly a hundred years ago carrying goods to mainland Ecuador, now covered by a large reef. Divers descend a line, circle the wreck and return to it. This dive also runs about 45 minutes, again with a maximum depth of 12 meters.
Port around 1:00 p.m., depending on ocean conditions.

Good to know
Itinerary subject to change at the discretion of the Galapagos National Park and your dive instructor, depending on ocean conditions. Water temperature January to July 23 to 25 C, August to December 18 to 22 C. Dive length depends on each participant's air supply. Bring sunscreen, cap, sunglasses, towels, water bottle and personal items.
