Overview
Floreana carries the islands' human history. You visit Asilo de la Paz, the Pirates' Cave and the tortoise breeding centre, then the sea lions of Playa Loberia and a black-sand beach.
Departure at approximately 08:00 from Puerto Ayora for the crossing to Floreana.
First is Asilo de la Paz, tied to the story of Floreana's first settlers. Next is the Pirates' Cave, a natural rock formation linked to the navigators and pirates who used the islands. Then the Galapaguera, with giant tortoises and the conservation work protecting them. Lunch follows at a restaurant on the island.
Afternoon: Playa Loberia, where sea lions haul out, then a walk to a black-sand beach. At approximately 15:00 the boat starts back to Puerto Ayora, a crossing of about 1 hour 40 minutes, arriving between 16:40 and 17:00.
